Before I write Chapter 3, I want to clarify a few important things.

The Fate Between Life and Death is a slow-burn romance. It is not a direct or fast-paced ghost romance where everything becomes clear immediately. Yes, it carries paranormal elements, but it is also a mysterious thriller layered with mafia power, action, and psychological depth. Because of this blend, I understand why some readers may feel confused and think,

“If this is a ghost or paranormal romance, why does it feel like only mafia and action right now?”

That confusion is valid—and part of it is my responsibility.

I made a genuine mistake by not clearly mentioning the slow-burn nature and the timeline earlier. Either I forgot, or those lines were skipped while editing. For that I'm sorry, I sincerely clarify it now.

Everything you have read so far—and everything in Chapter 3—is set in the present timeline. The one-year flashback will come, as I have already mentioned and written in the upcoming chapters I’ve completed. I will also clearly mention the timeline year for you, so there is no further confusion.

This story requires patience, because every character has depth and purpose. Nothing is random. This is a mystery thriller and paranormal romance, and such stories unfold gradually.

I cannot guarantee when the main leads will fully appear or connect—it may take time. The upcoming chapters are extremely important in the present timeline. If I rush into the one-year flashback too quickly, it would defeat the purpose of writing this story with intention. I write with a purpose, and I am the author for a reason.

Especially, Riddimaan and Krishti are crucial characters in the present, and their roles must be established now before the story moves backward.

So this is my sincere request to you, my Darklings:

please stay patient and controlled.

Trust the process.

Trust the characters.

Trust the story.

Everything will come together—when the time is right.
